This model, while having no direct association with APS history or Philadelphia, was given to the APS in 1964 as a complement to the model of the USS Peacock (59.1), a gift of the same donor in 1959. This merchant vessel for transport of cargo or passengers was built in Wareham, Massachusetts, a shipbuilding center in the 1700s. |
