This bowl was owned by William Ezra Lingelbach, Librarian of the APS from 1942-1958. He oversaw the moving of the library collection from Philosophical Hall to its current location, Library Hall. Lingelbach was also professor of modern European history and dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania. |
