Description |
Relief profile portrait of subject facing his right. He has short curled hair, furrowed brow, Roman nose, and slightly protruding, rounded chin. He wears a draped robe. Over his shoulder is a small star shooting downward. White on black jasper dip. "NEWTON" at bottom, "Wedgwood/O" on back. Possibly after 1787 model attributed to James Hoskins and Benjamin Grant, which is after bust by Louis-Francois Roubillac. |
