Description |
Life-sized, undraped bust of a male with no base. The head is turned slightly to the left. The hair is curled, ending just below the ears. Cast in back of shoulders: "Biddle." Brass tag on front: "NICHOLAS BIDDLE/ 1786-1844." Attributed to E. Luigi Persico. |
Label |
Nicholas Biddle was the last President of the Second Bank of the United States. Notably, he edited the Lewis and Clark journals. The original journals are owned by the APS. |
